A Lifetime of Ephemera: 25 Years in Punk Told Through Ticket Stubs, Flyers, & Memorabilia
by Brian Polk

Since the mid-‘90s, writer and punk musician Brian Polk has been amassing a collection of ticket stubs, flyers, and other ephemeral art inspired by the underground music scene. After obtaining his initial ticket stub at a show in 1995, he began curating a uniquely personal collection of artifacts that document his fervent love of punk culture. By the late ‘90s, he started playing his own shows, making his own flyers, and releasing his own zines. Over the last 25 years, he has lugged his ever-growing collection of memorabilia between apartments and communal houses across the city of Denver. For each chapter, the author uses a single piece of amassed ephemera to regale the reader with tales of youthful indiscretion, band anecdotes, and other stories pertinent to a very specific time and place. A Lifetime Of Ephemera chronicles his often life-altering experiences in the underground music scene from his teenage years to the present day.
